The opening for Honoring Our Artists will be held at the Hawaii Museum of Contemporary Art, 141 Kalakaua Street in downtown Hilo, 5:30-7:30PM. The show will be on display from January 2 through 28. Museum hours are Tuesday through Thursday 9am-4pm, Friday and Saturday 10am-7pm Closed Sunday & Monday.
The artist will perform a live modeling on January 3, starting at noon, in the EHCC to honor photographer Joe Ruesing. The public is invited to recognize our artists.

A special, intensive workshop designed to unleash our own authentic voices from the prisons in which they are held. We will explore our inhibitions due to childhood traumas, self imposed limitations or simple lack of technical instructions. This workshop is intended for both professionals and aspiring singers, storytellers, speakers, teachers or shower divas! Vocal basics will be covered... Psychological influences uncovered... In order to DISCOVER our own authentic self expression through the VOICE... The oldest instrument of human kind.

Learn to see ambient light and how to use it when photographing people and the environment
PREREQUISITES: knowledge of Aperture and Shutter speeds on manual setting.
OBJECTIVES: To understand the use of ambient light on people in the environment. Learn to use an external flash with confidence to enhance or fill while photographing subjects.
MATERIALS: Digital Camera. External flash and laptop optional.
